A working city under a mountain. We use it as a first landing, a mid-trip reset after safari, or both.
Most family itineraries we write give Cape Town three or four nights at the start. That is enough for the mountain, the Waterfront or Sea Point promenade, and a Winelands day without treating the city as a checklist. A second stay of two nights after Kruger is common when the Garden Route follows — a different neighbourhood, a slower breakfast, a theatre night if the dates line up.
